CADIEUX, ODILON (354 - ENGLISH)
Damase Cadieux and Angéline Labrie
Odilon was born in 1871-06-12; Rigaud Vaudreuil QC, and died in Dawson City, Yukon, on 1899-08-_he never married.
He was the son of Damase Cadieux and Angélique Labrie; Odilon was originally from the region around Montreal, QC.
He was in a tent at the corner of 3rd Avenue and 2nd Street and was busy cleaning his shot guns when a gun-shot was heard by passers-by. Those who were walking in the area reported that Cadieux got out of his tent rather shakily with his hands on his chest, then fell dead in front of the horrified pedestrians. He was only 29 years old, and as people said he was a young, single fellow who lived an exemplary life. On the previous evening he was in the Ottawa Saloon which his brother, Joseph owned, and had told his brother that he was leaving the next day to go to his mining concession in the Last Chance area.
